Tribal Histories

Increase the Knowledge of your Tribe's History, Earn Honor Points for Your Tribe!

How ne-kan! ('Hello, Friend' in Potawatomi) Each Tribe is unique in many ways, from its origin, customs, life styles, culture and more. We spend most of the year sharing and working together as a Tribe, but how much do we really know about our tribal history? Help educate everyone share the interesting facts and history of your Tribe with others by writing a short essay for the new Smoke Column 'Tribal Facts and History'. Each month will feature a column written by dads and kids about their tribe. Earn HONOR POINTS each month, as well as a special feature front page article for the MOST INTERESTING article of the year! Get a chance to share and read your history to everyone at the Winter Campout in a special presentation on Native American cultural history!

At the December Longhouse, there will be a special drawing for all contributing Tribes for a Gift Certificate from Hozhoni Gallery of Native American Art and Jewelry in Naperville.

So far, response has been poor, with only 4 Tribes out of 80 total responding.
